Leaning Tower of Pisa

Building began on the bell tower of  Pisa Cathedral, Italy, in 1173. Soon the foundation began to sink on one side. The design was adjusted, but by the time the Tower had reached its full height of  fifty five meter it was leaning sharply The tilt increased over  the centuries and it is amazing that the 14000-tonne structure is still standing.
